Obiter was rushing through London’s Royal Courts of Justice (what’s new?) when a flash of glorious technicolour pulled us up short.

Quilts on display at the RCJ

Unveiled by the lady chief justice this month, these crafted quilts (pictured) were part of a project begun in March 2020 by an employment solicitor to connect people feeling isolated during lockdown. HMCTS said the project has ‘grown into a symbol of unity’. The quilts have been created by legal professionals, judicial office holders, court staff and their families, and are now on display in the RCJ’s Great Hall. The stonework of the building really brings their vibrancy to life. The display is free to visit until Thursday 31 July.
