Top 50 firm Weightmans has announced double digit growth in profit and turnover in its first annual results since its merger with RadcliffesLeBrasseur in June last year. The national firm today announced net profits up 12.5% to £12.7 million in the year to 30 April 2023.

Total income increased by 22% to £125.9m, 11% of which was accounted for by organic growth, the firm said. Private client services grew by 67% and health sector work was up by 48%.

The profit growth was markedly lower than last year's post-pandemic figure of 25%.

Managing partner John Schorah described 2022-23 as ‘another very positive year’. Prospects for this year 'look really encouraging as well', he said.

'Our merger with RadcliffesLeBrasseur, the integration of teams and embedding of new technology has been a great success and this is a testament to the support and hard work of colleagues from across the business,’ he added. 'We have introduced a number of award-winning products to the market and welcomed a raft of new talent to the firm as we continue to see the possibility in all that we do, in order to delight and inspire our clients and our people.'
