Cinnamon Trust, The
At The Cinnamon Trust, we treasure the profound bond between people and their pets. For 40 years, we have been dedicated to providing peace of mind to older and terminally ill pet owners nationwide, alleviating the daily challenges of pet care and ensuring lifelong guardianship for their beloved companions.
Together Dementia Support
Dementia is impacting on thousands of families across Manchester and North Trafford. Many people find themselves completely without support, and struggle to navigate the complexities of health and social care, as well as daily life. Life beyond a dementia diagnosis does not have to be lonely or boring. We provide post-diagnosis rehabilitation support in the form of a vibrant community-based activities programme.
Abbeyfield Society, The
Established in 1956 by Richard Carr-Gomm OBE, the Abbeyfield Society is a charity that provides housing, residential care and support to older people. It is its mission to fulfil Carr-Gomm’s vision of alleviating loneliness in later life by bringing people together. Abbeyfield strives to enhance the quality of life for older people by providing high quality accommodation in a stimulating environment and enabling them to maintain a socially active life. Today, our dedicated caring staff and volunteers support older people in homes across the UK.
Age UK
Age UK believes every older person should be included and valued. We’re working locally, nationally and internationally to change the way we age. Together with our partners, we’re changing the day-to-day experience of getting older through essential services and local support. We transform older people’s wellbeing in the ways that matter most to them – whether that’s getting online or getting more active.
Age UK London
London has the fastest growing ageing population in the UK, so Age UK London’s work to ensure that older Londoners’ voices are heard is needed now more than ever. We are the only charity that campaign on behalf of older people living in London and our work covers many issues from accessible and affordable travel, poverty and support for those on low incomes, digital exclusion, and public toilet provision.
Dementia UK
Every three minutes, someone develops dementia, and currently, nearly one million people across the UK are living with this often devastating condition. Many families struggle to know where to turn and are left feeling exhausted, overwhelmed and alone.
Little Sisters Of The Poor - In The Care Of The Elderly
The Congregation of the Little Sisters of the Poor is a religious order founded in France in 1839. The Sisters came to England in 1851 and a rapid expansion took place in towns and cities through the Country. Today there are eleven Homes in the UK and Ireland: Bristol, Dublin (2), Glasgow, Greenock, Leeds, London (2), Manchester, Newcastle and Waterford. The express desire of our foundress, Jeanne Jugan, was to provide residential care for the elderly poor, regardless of their race, creed or gender.
